All international manufacturers wishing to market their Medical Devices in Great Britain must appoint a UK Responsible Person to represent them. However, with UKRP services available from as little as £300, reviewing who provides your UKRP Service can free up funds for new projects.

The Process to Switch UKRP service provider.

Is the process of switching your UK Responsible Person for UKCA-registered Medical Devices a simple one?

The short answer is yes. Switching your UKRP service provider to Regen Marketing Ltd is straightforward.  We submit a new Letter of Designation after the existing supplier has deactivated their registration at the MHRA portal. This process takes only a few minutes, after which the MHRA sends a confirmation email. The actual review of the new UKRP is generally approved within 3-5 business days.

A UKRP transfer agreement is not required because the current UK legislation is based on the Directives in force at the time the UK left the EU.  However, switching UKRP does require repayment of the product registration fee, currently set by MHRA at £261.

Labelling Requirements. 

If your devices were placed on the Great Britain market via the CE Marking transition, then no labelling updates are required. This allowance is in place until June 2028 or June 2030, depending on the device, after which current legislation says all devices must show a UKCA mark.  You can read more about current MHRA guidelines HERE.
